So, I recently moved to a Sterling Ray34 from Fender, and absolutely love it! I have no issues with comfort playing in the middle or closer to the neck, but when playing near the bridge, using the pickup as an anchor has been awkward at best. its not a solid surface since it moves on the adjustment screws, and also it has a taper so there isnt much purchase area to rest on.

I wonder if there is a thumb rest that mounts on the top of the pickup without interfering with the adjustment screws, or if there is a different solution. tyia!

Never had this issue, with any bass. I use the lowest string as my thumb anchor, or I don't use any strings. There are probably some aftermarket thumb rests out there, but you may not like how they look.

See the post by Johno-85, with his 3D Printed thumb rest. His appears to be for use near the neck but maybe he can print one that mounts along side the PU.
