Had a message last night from an old friend Pete Mathison

Pete has to be one of the best around these parts and I aspire to play like him. and it's a pleasure to play with him.

Anyways he sends me a FB message last night. He is one for scouring the second hand shops of Cardiff and he told me about a MM sub guitar about 2 miles away. He didn't want it and was telling me about it. So literally an hour ago I loaded up my wallet with £200 in used notes and went around there.
It (a black hardtail Sub) was hanging on the wall and I asked to have a look at it. My jaw dropped when I saw the price - £425!!!
Body and electrics were perfect. Finish on neck and fret board 100%. Very slight fretwear. Action was way too high - neck was straight as an arrow.So it needed a tweak here and there to get it REALLY nice.
Out of interest I asked for his best price and he (another guy sat at the computer) said£450 - then realised that this was more than the tocket price. I did say that there was one in the town centre and that at his asking price he may have it hanging around for some time - unless of course someone REALLY wants a sub.

So I offered him £200 to which he said that was less than he paid for it - well I'd have been a fool not to try!!

So no Sub for Spud - "Notting to see here,move along please."

Good news was that last night I had a £250 guitar given to me that I have now given to my son.

That's all right Spud, go back to him every week and offer ten quid less than you offered last week. (£190 next week £180 the week after that, etc.) Before long he'll see that it's not gonna budge and your the man to take it home.

Talking about "eat", this morning when I woke, after initially feeling a bit of sickness, all I wanted to eat was a tuna and ice cream bagel whilst sniffing a freshly opened sachet of wonder wipes. Should I be worried?

I didn't buy the sub as it was too much for what i wanted to pay. Good thing was though that I had another guitar given to me buy a guy I do some work for(well it was always gonna be for my son) - it's not a "name" guitar and not worth the money i originally thought. He had it given to him and he likes the idea of it going to a "young 'un" who will use it It was available for use at a local jam night but people gravitated to a Strat copy i set up for him.

- it's a nice player and my son in Uni can use/abuse it without cause for concern.

I'll keep an eye on the sub but in reality I don't see me getting it.
