I have a '97 Axis Sport S/S/H that I removed all the stock electronics and put Lollar pickups in - a Tweed (4.8k) in the neck, a Blonde (5.5k) in the middle and an Imperial humbucker (8.4k) in the bridge. I also drilled and installed a toggle to coil tap the Imperial. This is probably the most versatile guitar (tonally speaking) I have ever owned and it does great with clean, mildly overdriven or more heavily distorted tones so I can cover quite a wide variety of tones and styles with it. When I only take one guitar to a gig, this is the one that goes.
