Axis Capo noise

I just picked up my first Axis cap and noticed that when I squeeze it to open it makes a squeak sound and the same when it releases. Is this normal? Works fine, but the sound is a bit annoying.

Shouldn't (or at least, mine doesn't). Maybe try a bit of lubricant?
