I have a 2006 LE Axis which I'm getting ready to sell soon. It is black with gold hardware and it comes with the original issue green lined case as pictured. I also have an Axis Tribute in Green. I am tempted to switch cases, keep the green case for the green Tribute and put the black Axis in the black Tribute case. My theoretical question to you is if you were a buyer of either down the road, would you find not having the original case to be an issue, even though the case switch actually suits both guitars better cosmetically?

Personally it would make no difference to me as I would gig the guitar and eventually (5 years or so of heavy gigging!) the cases need to be replaced anyhow. I could see to a collector it may be an issue.

I think a collectors edition guitar like that needs to stay with the matching collectors edition case.

That is a beautiful guitar by the way. 2006 was a good year for me...my son was born that year. It has me thinking...

Thanks for the opinions. I decided to keep the cases with their respective guitars. It wasn't really a salability thing that affected my decision but since the case has the 2006 LE badge and the back of the guitar has it screened on as well, I figured that they belong together and it wasn't right to break them up.

I tend to feel the same way. I always sell guitars in the cases they came in ... just feels right for no specific reason.
