Just wondering if any Axis owners out there have modded their guitar to get single coil tones, say by replacing the volume pot with a push-Pull pot?

I am considering trying this out,to see if I can get some different tones from my Axis.
(or if not, maybe just go out and buy a Silhouette?:) )

Had it done on one of axises I owned in the past, sounded pretty good and convincing.
However I didn't use a push pull but push push pot, way easier to operate, especially after
bit of playing when your hands get sweaty and pulling that strat style knob is a bit tricky.

I have a push-pull pot in my Axis that splits the neck pickup, and that sounds great! The knob is changed to a chrome tele-style knob, and I have no problems being able to use that live.

I don't know what the bridge pickup sounds like in split mode, because the previous owner added a middle single coil, so I haven't had the need for splitting the bridge pickup.

The push-pull pot sounds like a good idea too, I dont want to mod the guitar too much.
I played a JP6 once and it had no push-pull pot in it. SOmehow it was factory standard that the middle position on the pickup selector switch was wired so that it was both neck and bridge pickups were tapped. I loved that sound even though it had a huge decrease in volume.

I did it when I had my Axis. Pull for split, push for hum. I didn't want to be confused, and that setup worked well for me. Easy peasy.

I did the mod to mine with a push-pull over a year ago. I love it! Especially the two single coils in the middle switch position (parallel). It's close enough to positions 2 and 4 on a ALSSS

You can mod your Axis to split in the middle position too. All you need is a new 4PDT switch, eg. the Dimarzio EP1111.
Wire it after this diagram but without the tone knob. Don't mind that the pickups are different in the diagram, I believe the colors of the wires are the same, since the Axis pickups are Dimarzios

It will have a volume drop, but so will splitting the pickups separately with a push/pull pot.
