My new Axis de-tunes a half step or so when I close the case lid, due to the lid depressing the trem-arm (EBMM case)

Do all floyd Axis's do that, or is that a setup issue?

Does it not pop backl up when removed from the case?

If not pop the arm out before putting in case,

Or, cut a notch in the case for the arm.

Don't the cases for all the models have a space in the lid for the trem arm? If not then I would just remove the arm.

I believe they do. Mine do. If he has another brand of case, it may be a problem, and I have cut them up before. Fit an old Charvel pointy head into a stock Fender case by cutting out a big space for the headstock. Messy.

I don't even know how I would check if mine does.

The Supersport has a "pop out" trem but the Axis trem is bolted in from the back and is not easily removable. I have not noticed an issue and when I take either out of the case, they're pretty well tuned if they went in that way.

I have seen a couple of people replace the trem arm collar with a screw in collar. Makes removing the trem arm for case storage a little easier.

Trick is that it's a particular model/size that fits, and I don't remember which one it is. I think it's one for a Fender Floyd Trem, but, again, not sure.

All cases are different as well as all trem arms on a variety of guitars. When closing the lid, hit the e string and let it ring while you close the case, you'll hear it if the case top starts to depress the arm.

I never leave the arm on if this happens, I do not want the springs stretched like that in the case. Only alternative is to remove the arm.

Make sure the trem arm is facing the neck(pointed toward the neck) when you close the case. And there should be no issues. I have no issues with my Petrucci or 2 Axis'.

I've got 3 different EBMM models and there is no difference in the cases. All the same on the inside.

Thanks for the replies. It is an EBMM case with the recessed lid area for the trem arm. Oh, and yes, it does return to pitch as soon as I open the case lid.

I thought those trem arms had to be removed from the underside? Do they pop out like the silhouette bars?

Hey Mike,

Unfortunately, the arm does not pop out like on other models like the Silo, Petrucci, etc.
