I'm gigging my new Axis tonight and wanted to tighten the trem arm. I thought I didn't have the correct Allen, but lo & behold, there's no screw in there :(
Anyone know what size it is or where I can get one?
For tonight, it'll be OK, but I do need to tighten it some.
Wish me luck; 1st gig with my new MM Axis.
Damn thing must have been gone since it hung on the wall in GC. Shame on me. I should have done a better inspection.

On a Gotoh/Music Man GE1996T the trem arm tension wrench is 1.5 MM. It is the same size on the Gotoh / Music Man GE1988T, but the string saddle would be offset. MM stopped using the GE1988T in 97 or 98. Since you said new Axis, the new MM Floyd arm just pops in the brass block and I don't see any way to tighten it, or reason why it would get loose.

Regardless of what trem you have, you should be covered with the info you need.

I got it new, recently, but it's an '09 build and has the black, nylon looking collar insert and threaded hole for appears to be the tensioner.

BTW, we had a great gig and the band really loves the Axis. Bass player and drummer really notice how it cuts through nicely. They're fans.
I'll have to call customer service and see if they have the allen screw, otherwise, off to hardware places, I guess....

Music Man used the same nylon collar and allen head screw on both GE1988 and GE1996. It distinguishes them from a stock gotoh, plus the MusicMan stamp. The 1.5 mm head is inserted between nylon washers and the trem arm. This controls the play of the arm in the socket. The nylon 1.5 mm screw controls the sway and swing.

Sears has allen key sets cheap.
