I have several Axis/Silo guitars, and just bought another Axis from MF, which arrived this afternoon. Unfortunately, it arrived with a stripped lock-down screw on the nut. The rest of the guitar is in pretty good shape, and I don't want to go through the hassle/time of returning it for another one (especially since the problem is relatively minor). I'm a little disappointed, but I would rather get the problem fixed quick.

Questions
1. If the screw is stripped is that the only part I need to purchase, or do I have to buy a whole new locking nut?
2. If I just need the screw, can someone recommend a good resource for purchasing them? I'm in the Maryland area so local is good, but web-based is ok too if delivery is quick.

Thanks!

Jon,

In addition to giving CS a call; the allen screw is all you need.

I always keep extra ones around, like strings or anything else. You can get them at pretty much any guitar parts store, e.g., Stew Mac, Allparts, etc. . ., I'm not sure if EBMM sells them individually(??)

Any local music shop or tech will have the locking nut screws spare.
Failing that why not just take one off one of your existing axis guitars for time being.

Musicman has given me great support. They have mailed the defective part to me, pup selector switch for Goldie, with no charge to me, all I did was call customer service, gave them the serial number, and the part was at my door in days.

Thanks for the info guys. I appreciate it. I didn't want to bug customer service on this, especially since postage would probably cost more than the part. I picked up a few spares at GC today, and problem solved.

Just curious Johnny......is it the socket/head that was stripped or the threads.

Again, just curious. Glad you got it sorted
