What are the dimensions of the back shape of an Axis neck (ex. 840 1st fret - .90 12th fret)? I know the nut width and the fretboard width from the Music Man website.

Thanks,

Mike E.

I don't have an answer for you, but a suggestion. You can buy a cheap caliper and measure it yourself. I just bought a digital caliper for $16.00.

Just out of curiosity, why do you need that info?

Unfortunately, I don't own an Axis to measure.

I am looking for the info to compare with a guitar I ordered from a custom builder. I had requested the neck to be a copy of an Axis, but it doesn't feel the same. The builder had a previous customer with the same request. The customer sent him an Axis neck to copy and the builder kept the dimensions. Because of this I figured it would feel the same. I have A/B'd my guitar with an Axis in a guitar store and mine feels beefier and it bothers my hand.

Thanks for the suggestion and quick reply,

Mike E.

Thanks for being up front with me on that...I would not feel comfortable giving measurements for a copy of our guitars. I hope you understand.

I do understand, no hard feelings.

My ideal guitar is a cross between an Axis and a super strat. That is what I had built. It's a basswood back/quilt top, HSS p/u, routed floyd and a maple neck/fretboard. It's more like a Charvel style than an Axis, but I was looking for the neck feel and humbucker sound of the Axis.
