Hmm just wondering if late model axis guitars have a slightly different neck shape to say one that was made in 2001? I have a 2013 bcb axis and a 2001 honeyburst. My older axis feels like the neck is slightly more of a chunkier U shape up towards the headstock and starts to flatten out as you move up to the neck joint.

my bcb 2013 is not as chunky up towards the headstock and seems to be more of a c shape?
Anyone have any ideas or am I just being pendantic? Anyone else notice any differences between old and later model axis guitars? (mainly with the neck shape I mean)

My older one with more of the birdseye maple feels like the neck is chunkier also. I have had someone hand me both where I cannot see them and as soon as I grab one I can tell which guitar it is. The neck profiles though are all the same with these guitars. I believe two different pieces of wood will sound and feel different and then, as already mentioned you have hand sanding and finishing differences. As a result they may have slight differences in tone and feel but all have the same general characteristics that make them such great guitars from one to the other.
