It's a little over 23mm deep at the first fret, and 40mm wide... Compare this with an Ibanez Wizard neck that is 17mm deep at the first fret and 43mm wide...
Monster thread resurrection, but I was wondering exactly this and I have just finished measuring my ASS with some digital verniers. Seems to be a common Q so fwiw, here's the exact spec for my specimen (2012 custom order ASS hardtail with Piezo, obv your's may & probably will vary!):
I thought these were interesting results, especially nut width as it is not exactly as quoted on the EB site for the ASS.
Bottom line though, is that as so many people testify, it is a dream to play!
Here is an axis neck measured. Was another thread comparing it to a peavey wolfgang neck for comparison.
"Here is a neck comparison I did awhile back.
" I have a pv wolfgang special waiting on new strings, an axis, dial calipers and too much time on my hands. Always thought the wolfgang had a much chunkier neck but flatter radius. Turns out it does towards the nut. I think the squared edges and slightly higher frets increase this perception. Both comfortable and I dig them both.
Note that the EBMM feel and effective width are less than indicated because of the heavy rolled fret and board edges. My Peavey has almost square edges on the board. Yea I know I'm lame."
I have no idea how big the ASS neck is but i do know that it seems custom built to the hands of its owners. I have never known a neck like it, it is pure magic.
