Because the Axis neck is costed, it tends to lose intonation. Can these necks coated like other maple necks professionally?

Welcome to the EB forum.
The necks have an unfinished feel to them. The necks are coated in a blend of Gunstock oil and wax, and if you search the forum, tou will find a lot of threads on that theme.

if you want the neck to have a finished feel to it, you could try applying Bircwood Casey wax to the neck and using 2000 grade wet and dry followed by a good buffing using lint free cloth. The finish will have more of a sheen to it, closely resembling a laquered finish.

I hope I've read your question correctly, otherwise please confirm again what info you require.

I must admit, I've never heard the term "costed" before. I've had my EVH since '93 and it hasn't lost intonation.

As a matter of fact, I don't know at all what you're talking about. :D

intonation i dont see how neck can effect that. I know unfinished necks have more of a tendency to warp though other than that im stumped. But i love love the Axis neck feel
