Hi

Since getting my Axis sent away for a professional setup (yeah right, nice job Machinehead music  ) Im worried about a few things.

If you look at the pictures, could anyone confirm for me that their bridge pickup is that much higher than the neck one, as mine is.
Also, my string height is 1/8" at the bridge and 1/4 at the neck p/ups. Is this correct?

Thanks for your time :)

The pickups look normal. They are hard mounted to the body, so unless they took the p/ups out and put shims under them they are not adjustable. There are instructions on setting up an Axis on this website...Learn to do it yourself...You can then set it up for how YOU play, rather than the way some yahoo in a music store thinks you might want it. :D

Yeah man setups on virtually any guitar are a breeze. :)

I used to send my guitars out all the time and what a waste it really was. I read alot of info from different sources and practiced on a junk guitar and learned the ways of the trade. Now I will never send my stuff out. I always do it myself. There's nothing to ever really worry about if you just take your time.

Plus you might find that you like your personal setup better than a "professional" setup. Trust me man, if you learn you'll soon find out that the only REAl "professional" setup is when you yourself take on the task at hand! :)

Right On! Learn to tweek your guitar! There are great books etc. Dan Erlewines books come to mind. NEVER pay someone to do what you can do yourself!
