Hi everyone. I just wanted to know what the specs on the Axis pup were such as the output in millivolts, dc resistane and the eq curve. The reason I am asking is that I have both an Axis and a Wolfgang and prefer the sound of the Axis. I have heard that the Dimarzio Tone Zone is very close to the Axis pup, then again I have heard some people say it's more like the Air Zone pup? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure of what pup has the true tone of the Axis/EVH pup, but I can tell you that the Tone Zone is NOT it !!! Just as a test I installed one in my Axis and it was definatly on the bassy side with a touch more midrange, I then put the Tone Zone in a alder wood strat style axe and it got down right muddy.

Hey thanks for the info Fretburner. If it has more bass than the Axis pup that would be a little over the top for me. Too bad the pups are not a direct fit or I could use the exchange policy and try out multiple pups. Oh well, the search goes on. :)

I agree. I was told by DiMarzio that the Tone Zone and Air Norton were the closest pickups they make to what is in the EVH/Axis. IMO they are decent pickups but not very similar to the EVH/Axis pickups.
