Anyone have any experience with splitting the neck PUP of an Axis? I would love to get a strat-esque neck tone but curious what others' experiences have been? Or even any vids or audio clips?! Before I go through wiring it up....

Well, I own the Super Sport version of the Axis and there you've both split options in positions 2 and 4 of the switch: pickups outer coils or inner coils.
Both options delivers a very strat-esque tone with some more "beer"...more body, more low-end, more and round high-end.
I definitely love both, so I think you're going to be happy if you proceed with splitting the neck humbucker on your Axis (even alone).
Pickups should be the same, so they should be 4 conductors on the Axis as well: you should find south finish and north start wires already soldered together and ready for split purposes (I would use north coil, to be closer to a Strat neck pickup).
The only concern is that you've a 3-way switch and not a superswitch like on the ASS (this makes you achieve auto-split on both switch positions).
So, unless you want to drill a hole on top to place a microswitch, you have to use a push-push potentiometer (a push-pull is not suitable, in my hopinion)...and, having a volume only, this could be a little bit uncomfortable if you use volume for swells while splitting (usually, the tone is used instead, to avoid this...but there's no tone there...).

I plan on doing this to my BFR Axis - I bought a push-pull bournes pot (short split shaft) to replace the stock volume pot. The stock volume pot has bad contacts, so that will fix it cutting out at full volume. I also found some wiring diagrams on Seymour Duncan's site for the configuration I want: when the volume is pulled, it will split to the outer coils, with the three-way still toggling between neck/both/bridge. I don't plan on using the inner coils when split.

Now I just need to pull out my soldering iron and actually do it...

I have coil splitting on my AL HH which have the same pickups. That said, it also has a 500k tone pot so it’s not exactly 1-1.
