Axis Sport model info

Hi,

There is a used Axis Sport for sale in my area, and I was wondering how this differs from the Super Sport model currently available??

The details are : MM90s, rosewood fb, vintage style trem, vintage sunburst.

How does the neck differ from an Axis SS? How does the neck differ from the AL?

Many thanks in advance!!

The body is made from Ash instead of the SuperSports Basswood/Maple Top. Plus the Sport loses the binding around the edges. Everything else including the neck should be the same.

Axis Sport neck is basically identical to the Super Sport neck, though it may lack some figure in the wood (no bird's eye Maple). Sports don't have the maple top found on the Super Sport. And all Sports have an Ash body - only the MM90 Super Sport has an Ash body (under a Maple top); the rest are basswood... Basically, they're great guitars, and play and sound as good as the average Super Sport. The Maple top is all they're really lacking....
