axis sport pickups? need help

just got my hands on a trans purple NOS Axis Sport (still had the hang tags on it!).

my question is about the pickups. the threads I've searched say that they should be exactly the same as those on my beloved axis SS models - BUT the bobbins are double black, rather than black/cream.

are these the same pickups in sold black? or different?

Ripley, apart from the colours, they are exactly the same humbuckers as in the regular Axis and Supersport.

As a side note, the single coils used on Axis Sports are exactly the same custom Dimarzios that are fitted to the Silhouette.

Those are still the same pickups that EB puts in the Axis. The Sport had a transitional year when all-black pickups were used.

If you're really curious, unscrew the pickups and look at the baseplates. They should be stamped B1 (bridge p/u) and N1 (neck p/u).

I thought the neck unit is stamped N2? Or I could be confused!

I know they're stamped N(a number) and B(a number). I thought it was the #1 for both, but I could be wrong.

Customer Service are the folks to ask.
