Jon (or anyone), this Axis Sport w/MM90's & piezo bridge I picked up off Ebay sounds absolutely delicious. The piezo pickups, however, have nowhere near the clarity nor acoustic guitar character of the JP6 w/piezo I played in SLO. This guitar doesn't have the separate piezo module like the current models I saw. Was there a change in the preamp that occurred after this particular guitar was produced, or does this indicate some sort of other issue? Thanks, sir (or whomever)!

This is an interesting question - what do you mean by "separate piezo module"? and (hate to state the obvious but it has to be asked) did you try putting a new battery in to see if it improves things?

Yep. Tried a new battery and tested the old one.

The current piezo-equipped models have an extra routing in the periphery of the body for the piezo electronics module. Mine has no such beast.

Not all models have the module like the JP. If you take the control cover off the back of the guitar, there are 3 knobs you can use to adjust the sound of the piezo. Give that a try.
