I´d say check the serial too...
My pinkburst Albert Lee faded over the years in a similar way - now yellow-ish in the middle. But mine didn´t fade on the back of the guitar as most of the light shines on the front
But it looks nice, like a one-piece-body!

Huh, so the Axis wasn't always a bound body? I don't recall ever seeing one without it. That's a cool finish.

I have to say that is the nicest axis sport finish i've ever laid eyes on. Wish they still made the sport - or ideally, did a Johnny Hiland signature version

CS responded. It was a blue one from 1999 with all black pickups. So it underwent a paintjob, a rather good one as far as I can tell from the pics.
I try to get info contact with the owner, hope he still has it and is willing to sell.

In fact I have a set of original Axis Dimarzio Custom wounds, all black, waiting for that guitar.
Am a huge fan of the Sports. Such a pity they stopped making them so long ago.

Agreed! Totally underrated.

I'm also holding on to a set of all-black Axis pickups for just such a project.
