Aup!
I don't like that white nut on my axis ss, changed knobs and switch tip to black and now looking for a nut replacement. Plus I'm going 10-52 and slots on present nut don't look like wide enough. It's a strat style, non compensated one.
Does anyone have any experience with this matter?
Anyone tried this one here:

Or maybe I could get one directly from ebmm?
Any help appreciated fellas.

I just replaced the nut on my friend's Yamaha 5-string bass two days ago. Cost about $75 in tools, Carvin shipped me the nut blank for free, and took about 2.5-3 hours. The main thing if you get a pre-slotted nut is to make sure it's the right width. If it's a mm or two too big, that's okay, but you don't want it 1/8-1/4" too big cause that'll mess up string placement. Your best bet is to get a blank that's as close to the right width and thickness and make your own slots with files.

The graphtech nuts are easy to work with; just get some needle files, a vice grip, a precise ruler, some super glue, and some sand paper of varying grits and go to town. I did a pretty good job and it was my first time.

Here's a tip: when you're adjusting the height of the nut and/or depth of slots and you don't want to keep re-stringing your guitar, throw a capo on the 5th fret and THEN take the strings out of the tuners. This way, you just have to re-attach them and not mess with the whole length of the string every time. When I did the bass, I probably adjusted the nut 6 or 7 times and were it not for the capo trick that would have been a pain in the butt.

Good luck! Plenty of nut-making vids on YouTube :)
