Hi ! I'm new here ... I never own MM , I have couple of les pauls , am st Tele , am deluxe Strat ... and want to get MM Axis Super Sport HH ... I never played one , stores do not have them in stock .... My question is if mahogany block on BFR model makes big difference in sound , is it really worth to spend almost $1000 extra for that ( besides the cosmetic options that was added to guitar ) ....All opinions appreciated

Welcome to the forums! I have never seen an Axis BFR of any sort, so can't help. But there are folks on here that likely have played both. Many are active in the evenings, so be patient.

Under no circumstances would I pay $1,000 extra to get a mahogany tone block. If you were interested in whatever else was in that generation of Axis BFR than go for it, but not just for the tone block alone.

Thank you so much for reply ! I'm choosing between Axis Super Sport HH BFR Cherry Burst which is $2700 (has mahogany tone block ) and Axis Super sport HH Blueberry Burst which is $1800 , they both with maple fingerboard ... I do not really care about cosmetics , both of them look nice ... I was just wondering if there is difference in sound ? Thank you

The tone block adds some 'girth' in the low mids, so there is a difference. It's been an interesting addition to a number of the MM guitars.

Is it worth the upcharge? Really hard to say- only you can decide.
