Hi Folks, I recently purchased a 2001 EBMM ASS hardtail with MM90 and Piezo pickups, and was wondering if anyone could help me out with these questions:
  1. The neck pickup seems to have abit too much low-end flub compared to the bridge pickup so I'm having a tough time trying to balance them out (Bridge becomes way too thin if I dial out the low-end). I guess it doesn't help that these pickups are not height adjustable on the guitar. Curious if anyone else feels the same about these pickups?

  2. If I were to look for P90 replacements, I'm guessing that I should be looking for the 'Soapbar' variant? Would it be right to say that all soapbar P90s should into the ASS as direct replacements, without requiring any sort of routing? Also curious if anyone has swapped out for a different P90 that they prefer in their ASS?

  3. The stock volume knob seems to be taper off too fast, and so I am thinking of swapping it out to a different volume pot, though I realized that all 3 pots are connected to a PCB board (I'm assuming this is meant for the Piezo) and am wondering if anyone has successfully swapped any of these pots out on your own?
Thanks in Advance!

Hello

My computer is broken ... I don't see the pictures.
On my ASS MM90 (but no piezo) I put a small piece of foam under the bridge pickup. Thus, there is a good equilibrium between my 2 pickups, but of course it depends also on the style of tone you are looking for.
Hope that helps !

Hi,

Not sure on all your questions but MM-90's are very shallow, never found an after market pup that would fit with out routing the guitar

There aren't springs under the pickups like you'd usually see on P90 style pickups? P90 pickups are usually pretty beefy in the neck with "classic" sets where they don't have a super overwound neck bridge pickup.
