Need a little help! My Axis SS piezo has a problem with the mono output jack. The contact is intermittent with any of the cables I've tried to use; it cuts in and out.
I've made sure it's clean and that all the wires are correctly soldered to it.

I think it needs replacing. I presume I would need a stereo quarter-inch jack? Is this right or do I need another kind of connector or is there a specific EBMM replacement part? Any advice gratefully received.

Before you replace anything, make sure that the contact points of your cable are making a good connection with the contact points on the output jack. Sometimes, the metal pieces of the output jack become "stretched" and don't connect properly.

To check, remove the back plate and loosen the nut on the outside of the input jack. You can then carefully remove the jack by pulling it into the electronics cavity. Now you can insert the cable into the jack and see if it is connecting properly at the tip and at the ring (or rings if you are using a stereo cable). If the connection doesn't look solid you can gently bend the hooked part of the jack to give a tighter fit around the cable and to make sure it is connecting properly.

I have had this problem with most of my guitars over time, including my axis which I fixed about 2 weeks ago. The constant insertion and removal of the cable (heh heh...he said insertion!!) can cause the metal to stretch and become loose.

I hope that helps.

Thanks for the tips. I thought about the battery, but even with a new one, the problem was still there. I think that it's likely that the jack may have loosened over time - I'll give it a thorough check. I've ordered a spare from EBMM (just in case!)

i have the same problem

i have the same problem. no matter what cable i have used. i even took the jack out and bent it a little and it made the problem even worse. it wasnt the connection to the tip of the cable i dont know what the hell it is. im thinking about putting a different jack in it. My EBMM axis SS is in absolutly mint condition and when i played with the jack it was the first time a screw was ever removed from the guitar. The thing is though when i took the jack out it looks absolutly perfect to me?? so idk?? a little help?
