Hey gang, have a question,....searched "stereo", but no luck for this exact problem. My current set-up runs from AXIS SS to KORG Pandora PX5D effects processor, which has a stereo output. Here is where the problem is. It sounds like a million bucks when the output is routed to a pair of headphones, however, when output runs to an amplifier, it is mono ( left side ) only and sounds pretty crappy. The users manual even says if output runs through a mono cable to a guitar/bass amplifier, output will be on the Left side.

Is there a way to run to an amplifier, or two amplifiers if neccessary to get the left side only to run to one amplifier, and the right side to output to another amplifier? Anyway to run it stereo to the same amplifier stereo, if it has more than one speaker? I'm using a Line 6 Spider III 2X10 at home, suppossed to be stereo, but still doesn't sound the same as the headphones....going to be on vacation though in a few weeks and will be using some kind of borrowed amplifier/amplifiers.........so...the sound difference is like night and day from heaphones compare to the amplifier.

Thanks for any help!

Thanks,...that's what it's looking like.....it's like chasing an imaginary dragon,.....I will check out the guitar shop before I hit the "Circuit City / Radio Shack" type store,....I just need to make sure it is a true split left and right channel split cable,...not just running the mono to two sources.

Any specific cable suggestions from personal use?

Some of the other guys will chime in on this I'm sure, but you need to be careful with ground loops and the like. Also, you might find an issue with phase cancellation, dependent on the different amps you're using.

Just seen that you're using a Line 6. Not 100% certain, but I think the input is mono only, the stereo feature on that would be related to the internal effects.

Ground loops could be a problem, but they are easily isolated with a nice little device called the Hum-X.

The Line6 is mono input, stereo effects, so it's going to be different from the Pandora with headphones.

You need a Stereo Y or "Insert" cable to go from the Pandora to 2 separate amps. I'm guessing it should work since headphones are just 2 mono speakers connected to a stereo plug. You should be able to find this cable at GC fairly easily. You might want to pop over to the Korg website and contact their support.

You may want to plug the Pandora into the CD input on the Spider. This will bypass the spider modeling and effects and should be a stereo line input. You will need a some kind of 2 x mono to 1 x stereo y cable with the appropriate size jacks.

On a side note any time you squish a stereo effect to mono like a big stereo chorus or delay, it tends to sound really bad.

I didn't think about that. Would be stereo to stereo then since the pandora output is a TRS plug.
