If it's the tremolo bar you're talking about, you have to unscrew it.

If it's the tremolo bra you're talking about, you have to unhook it. ;)

The trem arm on the Super Sport is not screwed in. It is held in by a detent bar, and should pull out. Just pull straight up on it, but like ernie said, if it's the bra, it needs to be unhooked.

Sorry about the wrong info. Which bar screws out, I know I have one, is it on the Luke?

None of our trem arms screw in. The Floyd is held in by a screw, but all the rest are held in by the detent bar.

I just dug my luke out of the closet. Serail # G09575. The trem bar screws in and out. Is the bar the wrong bar for the trem and it just happens to screw in and out by luck?

That guitar was sold at Guitar Center. They always have parts stolen off the guitars, and I have seen some come here for repairs with the wrong trem arms, switch tips knobs etc. My guess is that is what happened to your guitar. Our MM vintage trems don't screw in.

Jurtex,

I like to remove my Music Man trem bar like so:

1) place your thumb on top of the 90-degree bend where the bar turns down 'into' the guitar.

2) place your other fingers of that hand under the tremolo arm and grasp the bar.

3) pull up, wobble your hand slightly if needed, while still pulling up.
