Hi Everybody,

I was just thinking about purchasing additional axis. I was thinking about the one mentioned in the title of this message.

Can anybody tell me is feedback about this model ?

Is the sound of the MM90 closer to strat ? Tele ? other ?

Is the piezo similar to the John Petrucci model ?

Is the axis super sport necks's different from the axis model ?

What is the suggested retail price of this model ?

Any comment welcolme

I have the Super Sport MM90 - no piezo... Great guitar, but it doesn't sound like a Strat or Tele (my Albert Lee does that :D ) It does have a great blues rock tone, tho' - the MM90s are strong without being too hot, and have a ballsy, inyourface tone that can really cut through a mix. Great for straight up Rock'n'Roll or Blues, or roll off the tone control on the neck pickup and take the volume a touch back and you've got a decent Jazz tone. I think it's a really versitile guitar - and it's a dream to play....

The MM-90 equipped Supersport has a very Single coil sound only a lot fatter. It is very rich and warm with a thick tone.

Piezo pickups are built into the saddles and reproduce an acoustic like tone. It is available
on most Music Man guitars.

The Axis and Axis Supersport share the same neck.

Retail price $1775

mm90 and piezo

I have both the mm90 piezo, and humbucker plus piezo. Would definitely go with piezo. If you're looking for a strat tele type sound though, I think the humbucker model in switch positions 2 and 4 sound closer to those guitars then the mm90's do.

I also tend to fancy the blended sound of those positions with the piezo added in more then I do the blended sound of the mm90's with the piezo added.

Not that the mm90's don't sound good, they do. Thicker and warmer and quieter than most all other single coils I've heard. Plus, very good note definition when played. Also sounds damn good on high gain setting in bridge position.

These guitars are almost impossible to find. I was lucky. Only 40 miles away for the mm90. It looks amazing in pacific blue burst, matching headstock and black pickups.

GOOD LUCK
