I've seen an used Axis Supersport in a shop a couple days ago, tried it, liked it, wanted to buy it. The guitar is solid white with black pickguard, classic tremolo (no floyd rose) and HSS pickups configuration, pretty much the same as a silouette I think, and has a battery hole (silent circuit, I guess). I went back home to find out something about that guitar, and get an idea of the average prices for it. Unfortunately, I can't find anything, not even a picture. I've never seen another Axis like that...
Does someone know more about it (years of production, pickups type, original price...)?

Thank you

Hello Arci.
I think that's actually an Axis Sport which didn't have the maple top. Personally I prefer that style with the pickguard....but then I'm strange.
.Someone who knows MUCH more about these things than I do will be along shortly to give you the full facts.

Yeah, but what I've never seen before it's not the solid color, but the pickguard and those electronics:confused: ...the pickups look like those of a mate's silohuette...but on an Axis!

Do a Yahoo Image search for "Axis Sport" and you'll see quite a few pics of other H/S/S models with pickguards. If they still made them (in lefty) I'd surely buy one.
Still no-one useful around to give you their history.......all travelling for the holidays I guess.

Yup, Andy is right, it's an Axis Sport.

Solid Ash (cheers Jon) body, no maple cap. Some were made with solid colours, some with translucent. Later in the life of the guitar, they were changed to non-pickguard, but the earlier ones had a pickguard.

I've got two '97 models with the pickguard, one in SSS and one with HH.

The 9v battery is there for the silent circuit.

Buy it, you can't go wrong with one.

Thank you for the replies, guys.
I like how it sounds and I love the feel of the neck, my doubts were just concerning the price...I don't know that much about EBMM axes, I was just afraid it was some kind of cheap series...it looks like a good deal instead!!
It seems I will be back to the forum as an MM owner...

Very classy indeed!
I use to have a white guitar and got rid of it quick as I got bored of the coloor really fast. But the Axis Sport is just classy in white. I'd love to have one.

Arci, not cheap at all man!! That is the predecessor to the Axis Super Sport. Axis Sports are excellent guitar. I had one, traded it and I just bought it back off the Bay this week.

Dude, if you like, and the price is right, get it, you won't be disappointed. :)

Arci, if you have the cash - get the Sport. They rock!
One of the few guitars I regret not buying was an Axis Sport with some funky sparkle finish .... took me a couple of years until I got smarter and start acquiring Balls:D
