I just wanted to see everyone's opinion. I am looking at a tribute and a BFR, both are the same price. With the different tone block on the BFR, and the fact I've heard it doesn't have as much bite compared to a regular Axis which one do you guys prefer. I like that VH tone though I like clean stuff to.

Play em both and see which one speaks to you. No one else can make that decision for you.

I have a BFR Axis, and it was my number 1 for a very long time. It sounds different than my regular Axis - not as bright.

I agree with Keith Sweat, that based on your statement the Tribute is more suited to your playing.

I don't have a BFR Axis, but have a few BFR Super Sports. All 3 sound different(one does not have tone block-all rosewood neck). My 2 Tributes actually sound different?????? You'll probably be satisfied either way.Play em both, like DevRock says.

I looked at my post again and realized i did not state it correctly. I actually have two regular Axis guitars right now and should quit there but I can't, they are pretty awsome. I saw a Tribute and a BFR for the same price that I like, they are not here locally and there are none to play at the GC here. I was just trying to see what people thought of the BFR sound in comparison if they like one over the other. The regular Axis has the sound I was always looking for but couldn't find. I wanted to consider the BFR since it will be different than my others. I guess it comes down to they are both great and one has more of a midrange bite, not better or worse. I might wait until I can actually get to play a BFR before buying one.

I can only compare a Super Sport with tone block to one without, as I don't have an Axis with tone block. I really don't hear a difference. They all sound amazing. My purple Tribute sounds better than my pink. Crazy, huh?
