I received my Tom Anderson Classic via UPS yesterday. This is an awesome guitar, it's kind of a hot rodded strat with a Floyd (pics are at the link provided). I have started comparing it to my other guitars already, especially my Axis (my favorite). The early results are that the Axis holds it's own quite well against this guitar. In fact, I find myself still wanting to play the Axis more. Quality wise it feels every bit as sturdy and sleek as the Anderson. I get great sounds out of both guitars, but there is still something that I can get out of the Axis that I haven't found (yet) out of the Anderson. The neck is more comfortable as well. I think it's cool that I can play these other guitars, but come back to the Axis as my top playing choice. I know it's early and maybe things will change, but the Axis still does it for me. Have any of you also had this experience? Finally, thanks to those of you who work at EBMM for making such a great guitar.

Nice score mate but I would imagine it's like comparing chalk and cheese because of the pickups ?

What's the Axis like up against your humbucker/floyd Classis or Cobra ? (two guitars that I'm lusting after myself ;)).

I had a Tom Anderson once. When compared to my JP's, I liked my Jp's more. So, a very good friend of mine got a Christmas gift....my Tom Anderson. Now, the guitar itself is was wonderful......just like my JP's.

Ive not played one myself, but for guitars priced around the 2k mark i would kind of expect more than a 4 bolt neck heel.Is it just a regular 4 bolt?
Looks wonderfull all the same :)

I've never owned an Anderson, though I've played ones belonging to my friends. They're very nice guitars, but I too prefer the Axis. The Anderson neck carves I've played aren't really for me; otoh, the Axis is the most comfortable neck in the world afaic! :D

I'm finding that I'm not liking the pickups in either Anderson model. They don't seem to distort the way other pickups do. It's really hard to explain. That being said, I might keep the pickups in the Cobra. In playing that guitar, I am learning that it is more of a 335 type of guitar, for blues, jazz, and clean stuff. I was hoping I could really take advantage of the mahogany/maple combo and really crank it like a Les Paul or Flying V. It's not the case so far.

As for the Fender Floyd Classic -- stay away. It was a big disappointment. The Axis killed it for tone and playability. It had the swimming pool route underneath the pickguard and that affected the tone in a very negative way, even with a JB in the bridge. You're better off with an Axis or GMW.
