Hey guys...to you Axis owners...from what I see, just about every Axis has a, what looks to be, just a standard Fender volume knob...or very similar.
I just so happen to have one of those GC exclusive Axis's...for whatever reason, I've always liked the open (zebra) pickups and Fender style knob setup better on the Axis...(mine are chrome covered, and I've got a chrome dome style knob).

While I've got enough guitars with dome style knobs, I like the Fender ones better (in most cases). I'd love to pop a fender knob on my guitar, but it looks like the pot/cylinder's diameter is too wide.

So my question is...are those standard Fender knobs...or are they proprietary EBMM knobs, designed to fit one volume pot (assuming the pot in my guitar is the same as every other Axis..which is questionable at this point)

I appreciate any info.
Thanks

Todd

You should be able to pop it right on. Just loosen the screw in the dome knob, pull it off and push the plastic one on. It wont hurt the guitar.

I can send you a cream one if you like. I prefer the dome knobs, so I put those on my ASS. Only have one because I damaged one taking it off.

Thanks so much man. Although, I'm not sure if yours will work. I've got a bunch of standard Fender knobs, and they won't fit on the pot on my guitar. The diameter is too big. Believe me...I've tried this before with terrible results...i.e. I destroyed the pot on one of my Charvels, trying to put a Fender knob on there. For whatever reason, while both the stock pot and the replacement were both CTSs, the stock Charvel pot was specifically for a dome knob...in other words, it wasn't a split shaft...it did NOT push on. I pushed too hard, and POP! That was that. So I installed the split shaft type pot, and it was fine...I could install the Fender knob...or screw the dome knob back on (as the split shafts are smaller and can accommodate either type of knob).

For my Axis...it looks like the pot is the same as the one on the Charvel...matter of fact, I know it is. That's why I asked the question if the stock Axis knobs were the same as the Fender knobs, or if they, in fact, have a larger diameter spacing. If they are identical to the Fender knobs, they will not fit my guitar.

Mark...if I can't get confirmation here, and you're not doing anything with that one, I'd be glad to try it out. I'd certainly appreciate it. I'll send you a private message.
Thanks buddy.

Definitely not Fender sized knobs. You can order replacements from EBMM customer service.

The problem is that an Axis needs to have just a TONE knob.......
