Anyone here have an Axis SS with the Piezo option?

I'm curious how the Piezo sounds, and if it would compliment the MM90s better or the Humbuckers....

also, would the piezo saddles on the trem sound thinner than on the hard tail bridge?

most electrics I've tried with piezos sound way too thin and tinny to actually use by themselves, but I've heard some promising things here about the JP.

The thing with the Piezo, is to eq it. Also, roll back a little on the volume, the top end can sometimes be a little shrill. The Piezo really arn't thin atall, its all down to what you are using to create the sound.

What gear are you putting the Pizo through? Hopefully someone on here may be able to help you with settings if they are using the same gear.

I have no Axis / Piezo experience, but can relate it to my AL.

The piezo will not sound thin with the right gear. When I play it through my valve amps - it's .... ok!
But through an acoustic amp and I think I have one of the better acoustic amps on the market - it sounds 8loddy amazing!!

Only drawback with the trem is that with the piezo switched on, the trem arm is very microphonic and will pick up any taps.

AWESOME BIT OF KIT !!!! You gotta get a piezo !!

AXIS SS Piezo Trim Pot beneath control panel on back?

Is the Piezo Trim Pot (Treble, Bass, Trim Piezo control) on the Axis SS Piezo beneath/behind wiring control panel cover on the back?

Also, the AXIS SS Piezo's come with the three chrome control knobs. Can these be changed to the numbered plastic cream colored knobs? I ask this because the chrome knobs appear to have the screw in the side, where the plastic ones do not. I just prefer the appearance of the plastic ones.

Considering a purchase, and appreciate the help! thanks

i've had an axis SS MM90 with piezo. i thought the piezo sounded very warm and full. the same to be said for my JP's piezo. both sets of trim pots were left as they came out of the factory. (the JP's is part of the jack plate, the ASS's are behind the control cavity plate.)

as stated, teh trick is in EQing the piezo. personally, i'd do that via the PA or the amp you're running them through. I run my piezo's via an AER alpha acoustic amp and the sound is superb. I actually think it sounds better than my Takamine!!!
