I don't excatly have it yet, it's on the way. I'll post pics when I get it. It's my first Axis. Swamp ash body/trans purple, hardtail, rosewood fretboard MM-90s.

How do you like it? What can I expect?

Expect a very versatile, very well playing guitar (of course, that can be said of all EBMMs!)... :p

More specifically, it sounds like a big hybrid of a fat Strat and a Tele, and even a vintage Les Paul if you have a good amp/modeler/stompbox - I've gotten pretty authentic SRV, Nirvana, Dick Dale, Ramones, Green Day, and Boston tones out of mine, for instance. The MM90s are great pickups, and the silent circuit really does a great job of keeping the buzz level down while still letting plenty of that juicy, wiry, single coil spankiness get through.

That said, it has lots of meatiness and sustain, but is surprisingly very light and solid feeling, and the neck feels great (again, like all EBMMs). Stays in tune well, aside from the usual neck shifting caused by the weather. It's a refreshing alternative from your average humbucker and single coil guitars on the market today, without a doubt!

Axis Sport DOB 10/20/00

Yo hambucker -

Your guitar's birthday is the same as mine - my real birthday, not my Sport's (incidentally, that's my great-grandma's b-day too)...

Mine came off the line a couple of weeks after yours on 11/2/00, and was originally shipped to the Guitar Center in Carle Place, Long Island....which, ironically, is the same place I bought the vocal mike in my home studio almost exactly a year later.

Oh, what a small, funny world this can be sometimes...

First off, error from Webshots that "you do not appear to be the owner of this album". Fix that. :p

Second, stop whining about the purple...chicas dig on that purple, bro. Use it for points. :D
