Hey all. I've been lurking here for awhile admiring all your beautiful basses and drooling at many of them. I bought this Stingray 4 back in high school and it was my main bass for a LONG time (16 years now). It is the gold standard by which I measured all other instruments. After many years of abuse I took it off the road and mainly played it in my home studio. Now, after browsing these forums, I decided it needed to see some more stage time, so with the addition of a Hipshot, it's back in action. This thing has been thrown and left feeding back on stage (my young punk days). Recorded over and over again, and the beautiful thing is, it's only been set-up a few times. It's a tank, a work-horse, a friend, and the best bass I've ever had. I'm gonna make sure that over the next few years, it sees as many states and stages as I do. Sorry I didn't clean it up before-hand, I was just anxious to share the love.

Sitting here charting out songs for some upcoming gigs, and quickly realizing that having the pre-amp right there at my fingertips is the best thing in the world. Oh, how easily we forget. sigh. The weight is not bad at all between 9 and 9.5 according to the bathroom scale. Thankfully at this point in my career I've been able to convince country singers that a 4-string with a de-tuner is capable of covering everything a 5 can with some creative liberties.
