Consider me out of the chase. In my mind it'll always be Rob's, and I'd feel like I was profiting of him too. I'd feel bad about having it. After all, he did pay for the thing and he got neither his money back nor a guitar--if I'm reading this situation correctly. That is, I'll feel that way unless he gets his money back. If he got the guitar and sold it to me, that would also be another story. I don't want Pete to have to eat the cost of the guitar, though. So, if anyone wants it, hey...it's business. Go ahead. Let Pete make the money he deserves.

Wait wait wait... if that's the situation, then yeah, I couldn't buy it knowing that Rob is out both guitar and money. Wouldn't be good at all. I didn't pick that up on the first read-through, but if that's the case... well, damn. I'm sorry for all involved.

:(

On a brighter note - I guess I'll just have to order a 2007 LE AL instead! :D

I know alot has been written about this. But again, I would like to say "thank you" for everything that BP, Pete, Jack and everybody else did to make sure I got my Dargie Stingray.

You guys are the best.

Holy moly. Even here on the forum, no good deed goes unpunished.
I'm really sorry to hear of this whole convoluted mess, BP and crew.. the DD was a true gift from EBMM and it's a damned shame that the generosity and spirit of the concept has been tainted by certain dealings.

If BP is willing to move on, then so will I.. but I had to post my disappointment this one time. Bad form!

Pete, if you get stuck with that guitar, and I know you won't.. but in the unlikely event.. let me know and I'll see what resources I have.

thanks rex...Lockny we all love Rob....I have no future if I dont have distribution. everybody knows that. Even Rob.

This is not Rob's guitar and shouldnt be treated as such. He has goten a large chunk of his money back and I think is owed around $500. that shouldnt be owed to him. buyer beware

really sorry that the whole thing has a tarnish on it for you BP, it really is a once in a lifetime type of deal. Sure there's the so and so's LTD. and this and that but this was special, born out of fun and plain Jack-assery  (that'd be bad pun #2)

the DD's were/are a great thing for us @ Act 1 and you and the rest of the family have been instrumental (bad pun, I know) in making it that for us.

point is, there are a few of us with them and are insanely lucky to have them... period.

now...... about that "silver-burst" Bongo 6 with the oil/wax neck........

:p

in all seriousness Sterling, big thanks to you and the fam.!

Listen, guys, I don't think BP or anyone else sees this as the overwhelming story of the Dargie Delights.

There were some unfortunate incidents involving ONE dealer and no one should let that color their view of the forumites and the very special instruments we got. Okay?

The Dargie Delights are still just as cool as they were, I promise.

Whether Rob is out all of his money or not, I'll let him say whatever he wants to say about that. Not my place.

But Pete paid for that guitar, too, and I don't think anyone would want you to hesitate if you're thinking of buying it.

I'm really ready to put this thread to bed. The story has been told and the facts are what they are and offering up a boatload of opinions will probably lead to internet arm-wrestling.

So call Pete if you want the guitar. I think I'll leave this open tonight and unless BP objects, call it a thread tomorrow early before someone wants to have a virtual boxing match.

It's nice to get the full scoop. I wasn't around when all this was going down, and all the reading up I did left some holes to be filled.

I gotta say (again) that you guys definitely helped me out to get my Dargie. You saved me about $600 in plane tickets, and you didn't have to at all. And im not even a regular here. Not many other companies would do something like you guys did. Especially for a lefty Canadian. ;)

I hope this is the case.
When all is said and done I hope that the Dargie Delights will be seen as a success story and something really special, which is what they are!!! (even though I didn't get one.;))
I hope BP and the EBMM-team feels this way too....

It's sad the way this turned out... to all the guys at EBMM, thanks, even though I don't have a dargie. I hope you guys do something like this again, when I'm out of school and am more financially stable :p

The Dargie's sure a great, I'm playing my DD Silo Special right now while I sheepishly read the forum. Special axe indeed.

Hope the new owner of the DD AL will treasure it- its a bit infamous!!!!! Funny thing is, i've turned down several offers for DD AL's this year but i refused them all as i thought i already had one! Oh well, maybe one day.

Too bad my enthusiasm for AL's got he better of me. Lessons learnt and all that. No matter, here's to many more spectacular AL's in the future!! Thanks for not banning me, I love this place! Go the AL!
