Anybody out there have any expierence with the shiva? I have started my quest for a better tone, that being said right now I am using a Marshall DSL 50- it sounds great but I think there may be somthing better out there?
Also looking at the Orange Rockerverb 50.

I play alternative rock originals, with covers ranging from the Beatles, through todays hard rock music.

Ideas, thoughts??

thanks for your help!

As the former owner of a DSL-50 and the current owner of an RV50 half stack I can tell you that you can't really go wrong with either. Both have excellent clean channels, but for me, the dirty channel on the RV had the tone I had been seeking all my life - it may not be for you though - so try one out (but do it where you can turn the master up to at least 11:00).

The Orange is still quite British in character, but a lot darker and low-midrangey in tone (especially when coupled with a thick Orange cab). It will nail easily the stuff you play (the RV50 is one of the most versatile usable amps I have ever played.

As for the SHiva - I have tried one out in the store - loved it - it was great. Just wasn't the tone I was looking for. My advice? Play them all and push them so you can hear the power tube distortion - that's where the amps true character will reveal itself.
