In the US you can find really cool bargains, while on the other side of the atlantic everything is so expensive......And if by chance we want to bring any fancy preamp, amp, bass, etc, we will pay heavy taxes.......

yeah, I hate watching the stuff the offer 2nd hand at talkbass for example. Very nice stuff for really nice prices, you really need to get lucky if you find something here for a nice price
