ok, I have a Hartke VX3500 combi amp (350w) and I think it sounds fine, but to be honest i'm a bit clueless. I find the high register is a bit quiet which surprises me. Is it worth upgrading?

or just my EQ settings (which were normally all flat!!)

I agree with Slim: Stay away from Hartke. They have gone from good and reliable to rubbish. Not to mention it takes no less than 3 months for any Samson product repair.

Not good if you ask me.

Have you thought about an ampeg? I use an ampeg SVT450 with Laney 4x10
and 1x15. Solid, dependable sound with plenty of options and loads of headroom. The heads easy to carry as well and looks cool and retro into the bargin.

I've got a sterling and this thing just growles through an ampeg!

Just stay away from Hartke when I started to play bass a little over a year ago I did not want to spend too much money on bass amp so I bought Hartke amp head and within a year everything fell apart:eek: I bought Ampeg B2RE later and it is well built and dependable amp and now I know that trying to save a couple hundred dollars on equipment and you actually end up wasting your money:(

Let's not forget that Larry Hartke is certifiable.
