I may piss folks off here, and the playing was good, but it seemed sloppy to me. Is it just me?

I think it's partly due to the recording...

Jon,

Yeah, there's some slop in there, especially toward the end. Maybe it's just fatigue from holding that monstrous guitar?

To my ear, two-handed tapping on bass almost always sounds sloppy. Billy Sheehan is probably the cleanest tapping I've heard on bass.

Did I ever tell you about the time I saw Billy Sheehan with Talas, as the opening act for Yngwie when he was touring for "Rising Force"? It was a tiny venue, I stood about 10 feet from the stage, and I couldn't hear for three days afterwards. (Yngwie had to use 3 stacks even for that tiny room!)

Ahh, what a show! And Billy did one of his great effects-laden solos. It was that kick-ass incarnation of Talas featuring Mark Miller on drums, Mitch Perry on guitar, and Phil Naro on vocals.

Something doesn't make sense here Stevo....you went to a concert, featuring one of our generations true innovators on guitar, and you go on about a bass player...I bet if I do a search on your activity, I'm sure to find you hangin with those guitar wannabes in the low down known as the BASS section :D

Raz,

Yngwie was awesome as well. Especially back then at the height of his playing. But there's no need for me to sing his praises... he does plenty of that himself!

It was kinda sloppy, but I couldn't do it to be honest. I mean, Jeez, dude had a Redwood tree with electrical lines as strings on that thing! How many strings did that thing have and does that REALLY count as a bass?!?!?! Seriously, I think it was good, had some slop, but he had the nerve to video tape it and put it out there. I wouldn't have due to my lack of playing ability...hehehee...

Yngwie...met him once....lets just say......he thinks I'm not a nice guy...hehehehe...
