Hi all,

I have a "Ernie Ball" 4 string musicman stingray bass made in San Luis Obispo California. I would be happy to email images if someone could help me. I'm wondering what years these were made and maybe the value of this bass.

Thank you, Paul

Hello and welcome to the forum!

The StingRay itself came out in the mid-70s. Ernie Ball acquired Music Man (and the Stingray) in 1984. The bass is still being manufactured and Music Man is arguably in the middle of a renaissance, with an incredible proliferation of new products and innovations coming out.

Currently, there are several variations of this bass, including multiple-pickup models and the new Classic Series.

How much it's worth really depends on the individual bass. You can find out when it was made by posting a query with the serial number on the serial number database thread here: http://www.ernieball.com/forums/music-man-basses/1254-music-man-serial-number-database.html

Oh, and forum rules: No pics, no bass! :D
