This issue of BassPlayer is really a fun read. If you see it on the rack, def. pick it up!
The Pino Palladino interview starts exactly like this:

How did you get your signature fretless sound?
The Music Man...

Nifty stuff! :D

Cool, I spotted this yesterday and decided to pick it up. I have the next few days off and thought it would make a good read. Also checked out the review of the 20th SR4 in the "regular" mag. Nice!

The 20th SR4 ????? Typo?

I have the may '96 issue that shows the 20th Ray, and says 2000 were made. I wonder if that figure is true, 'cause then I'd say the 30th at just over 700 made would do good value wise 5-10yrs from now.

You know, I don't think they send the special issues to us. When the Funk/R&B one came out, I had stumbled across it at a Fender gathering where Bill Leigh and Jonathan Herrera of Bass Player were in attendance. Otherwise, I would have never known about it. I never saw them in the stores...

Just for clarification, I was there because it was a Fender/SWR gathering for Artists to demo their new stuff (i.e. the new Working Man's amp line). I was an SWR user at the time...:)

Thanks Marcus for the help. I will head to the neighborhood news stand today to pick up a copy. By the way nice MySpace page. I really like the groove on the background music, very tight pocket.
