I had noise problem with my silo spec battery input.

I tested the battery and it was like new. I have dismounted the system without finding anything wrong.

I finally changed the battery that was shipped with the guitar (I bought it from Ebay) to dicover that the size of 9v battery was slighty smaller than a regular one hence some noise and static while moving the guitar

Duracell was the answer :D

Does anyone use rechargeable batteries? I'm interested in doing so but have never heard of it before.

yes it is :D

I have a couple of AA battery on my desk it works fine :)

But frankly speaking unless you always leave the jack in the guitar, I reckon the battery can last at least six month

so we are far from 2000 :D

Normally a rechargeable battery only gives out 8.4 volts not 9, so it may have performance issues. I think with normal use you will get a year out of a battery. I would not bother with rechargeables myself.

^ thanks for the info. really, 8.4v? that's strange. but it sounds like a battery in the guitar will last long enough.
