Hey guys \

you should see just how bad we are getting beat up in the battle of the bands forum by bands that didnt get picked (200 chances out of 10,059 bands) We host a site with their band profile and two mp3's for FREE and give them three chances to win and they are saying some really bad things. I love being the only company in the music business that gives bands online exposure in addition to haveing a full time stage that 10,000 bands have played on in the last three years and we are the bad guys.

If anybody feels like defending Big Poppa bring it on.

I once heard a saying, something like "dont bite the hand that feeds you".

This could apply here.

Youd think most of these kids would be thankful for the free press and exposure, but people arent always as gracious as wed like them to be.

BP, what forum specifically on the site? I've browsed a few of them but didn't see anything that stood out. I'd be happy to get your back on this one.

All I need are names.........and an alibi.

Simply monitor those in question and slam the door on them if they try to participate in the future....or, my team could roll in there and get an apology if needed...... ;)

Big Poppa, I'll defend you and EBMM at any time.....bring 'em on! It is a shame to be so gracious as you and your company are to have people bad mouth you. Stupid is as stupid does I guess. Send them my way.....anybody can be a keyboard commander.......let them tell me like a man and maybe they will sing a different story.....hehehehehe.,..

I got your alibi right here Koogs

Cousins= Linear Time Invariant Systems = Everyone has better manners

Thank You for bringing this to my attention. If you could provide a little better direction on how to find this atrocity, we will see if we can make apologies and exit strategies their number one concern.

or better yet

Thank You.

something for nothing

What a bunch of ungrateful punks. I don't know what to say other than after reading some of the posts, I would reconsider continuing the promotion next year. But what the heck do I know?

Well, if their bands didn't suck, then they'd have a better chance.

With all due respect to the non-U.S. citizens that frequent this board and play MM products, I must say that EB MM is one of the few U.S. bassed :))) companies that take a visibal role in the communities. I know there are others - but EB is the one you see promoting events, etc all the time. I respect a company like that. I give my money to a company like that.

To many company's are copping out and going overseas. So to the folks bashing you - tell them to f**k off. Let's see if Fender will put forth the effort that EB does.

The term "sore loser" was coined for a reason. I just don't know why people can't take their lumps and move on. 200 OUT OF 10,059! There were way more losers than winners and even the losers still have a chance. Instead of griping and bitching they should be doing what they can with what time they have left.

Seen this in too many places in the US. Been thinking about traveling overseas for awhile just to see if there are better attitudes elsewhere. Maybe get a refreshing perspective.

Teaching freshmen calc opened up my eyes to the extent of the poor attitudes I now see too readily in the kids growing up. People seem to feel they are owed something. I figure the only thing I'm owed is a death. (However, I damn well will carry a chip on my shoulder if I'm cheated of that :D )

What happened to proving yourself, congratulating others on jobs well done and revelling in the success of your peers along with your own.

Arghhhhhhhhh!

It is sad when things come to this. I deal with 12-15 year old kids on a daily basis (well I get 2 and 1/2 month off starting tomorrow afternoon :D ). Anyway, anytime something doesn't go their way, it results in massive name calling (usually followed by nasty notes, IMs, emails, testing, etc - then usually followed by fights). The skills for properly dealing with different situations are nonexistant because either "Mom or Dad will fix it" or "I just belittle the other person so I don't feel as bad." It is absolute bull when people behave like this but sadly it is what society has regressed to (so it doesn't suprise me) - I'll get off my soapbox now :D

BP, let me say that what you and EBMM have done is unprecidented and greatly appreciated (and I didn't even enter). Between this, the open house and the customer support we receive (and I have had some wonderful dealings with EBMM employees), EBMM is the model that other companies should strive for.

Even though EBMM keeps sucking money out of my pocket  thank you for your efforts - they are not unnoticed or unappreciated!

That's just too bad, they need to get a grip on reality!!!!!!!! What amazes me about many people who sing, play a instrument or do sports, is the fact that they do not have any clue how bad, little or average talent they have!!!!! I'm sure many of you have seen the tryouts on American Idol. Man talk about clueless. It's hysterical to watch and sad at the same time. Like Koogie said, if you really want it, keep practicing and keep plugging away at it. Maybe, you'll make it......

If we were all talented BP would have a lot of bands to sign and signature instruments to build. ;) :D
