For yet another convert who found the religion of EB this weekend. I took my Petrucci and Axis to a friends house to jam and he has come away a changed man. Alright so he was whining like a baby when I left. ;) He realized that while his PRS and Gibsons are nice guitars in their own right, there was something else out there that made him sit back, grin and say Holy ****!!!

He couldn't believe the tones that he could get from the EB's when A/B'd with his PRS, and the piezo really blew him away. He's used to playing 11's on all of his guitars and had a tough time at first with the 9's on the Axis, but once he found his fingers he was just floored.

About 6 hours later he was groveling to his wife about how he *had* to have a Petrucci. Actually it may have been a toss up between that and the Axis, but he's a big Petrucci fan so I'm sure he'll look for one of those first. And it will probably have to be a Blue Dawn, he loved the color of the Axis.

He'll probably show up here in the few days trying to track down a Blue Dawn Petrucci, so go easy on him, forgive him for not seeing the light until now.

Darrell,
I didn't have to preach whole lot. Once he started playing it was basically "let the music do the talkin' "

If he said it once he said it 10 times, "I can't believe the "bite" in these pickups" I'm not knocking his or any other guitars, but the difference was really incredible.

OC, did you create the backing tracks to your clips or did you get them somewhere? I really like your second one too.

I'm really feeling another wave of G.A.S kicking in here. I checked out that link you suggested to "Tweaks". Great site, I'm in sponge mode right now just trying to take it all in and figure out what I need/want to be able to start recording.

Keep the the good work, you're a source of inspiration around here.

It really is amazing watching some dudes face light up when he plucks those strings on a EBMM. I love watching the reaction of peeps who play my axes and then let their "boutiques" go unused for the time I am there. Simply put, these are awesome guitars.....I feel like I am in a fraternity with a the secret handshake and decoder ring......and everyone who plays a EBMM wants to join in!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA..........Like I always say...welcome to the addiction pleab, and take your spankin' like a man!

OC,
Sorry that I'm just getting back to you. I've been away on vacation for the last week kickin' back on the Outer Banks.

I thought it was you that mentioned this site, but I went back and looked and it wasn't. Sorry...

Anyhow, this site is a great (at least for me) how to, on getting started recording music to the computer. I've found out tons of great information about what equipment I should be looking at etc. MAybe you'll find something useful too.
