Just for fun, I restrung my Sterling by MM 4 string BEAD. Yeah yeah, I know the nut size isn't quite right. But nothings popping out. I then needed to adjust the truss rod, and I found I needed to raise the saddle height a bit for each string to stop fret buzz. Finally tweaked the intonation a bit.

But I like it! Seems to be working just fine! Already used on two songs...

For example Def leppards Pour some sugar on me. I now can play a low C# and I feel that works even better in this song.

Then on Black Crows Hard to Handle, I add a few low B's just to mix things up a bit.

Maybe I should have got a 5 string Bongo instead of the 4 string. I might have graduated to the Big Boy's 5 String Bongo Club!

That's pretty cool. What are the cords to Pour Some Sugar On Me? I've always wanted to learn that song but for some reason or another, I have never sat down and figured it out.

I guess that's a good option if you don't want to get a 5. Does the B string fully seat itself into the nut slot? I'm thinking it might not, since it's a bigger string. I see you have a couple other 4s, so maybe this is cool, although you will miss not having the G string - at least I would miss it. You can see if you like going down in the mud with this setup and if so, you can always get a 5 - I recommend the Sterling 5HH!

I think you can google the chords for this song. There isn't much bass playing really. In the intro you simply play three bars of two eighth note C#, then a forth bar also like this but add two 16th note C# in sync with the drums.

Pre-Chorus is F# F#, BB, twice, then EE, AA, EABBBB.

Chorus is EE, AA, BB.

No, the B string doesn't quite fit, but it still works ok.

I have Bear Claw hands...wide with short fingers. This is why I have resisted getting a 5 string. This is also why I love the 4 string Sterling neck so much.
