Hello,
Not been around here years, but in the past have owned a few 'balls, and many, many others.
Life got in the way, and guitar playing and GASing had to take a back seat. Last year though, a friend convinced me to join a fledgling band they were forming, and our first gig is next week! It's my first proper band for 30+ years so I am re-learning all the things I had forgotten about stage-craft, managing volume, the constant battle to hear other people in the band etc. All great fun though.
I'm using a Roadworn Tele, which is great, but as I re-learn the basics, I am hankering after a Luke 2 again. That slightly compressed, smooth clean tone as a base is just what I need. We are a covers band, playing a wide range of material, running through my Helix into FOH. The Tele does some things great, but not everything. Beej sold me a Luke 2 years ago, and Keith sold me a great Axis MM90. Why did I sell them?!
Anyhow, just thought I'd say Hi - nice to hang here again.

Hello Rich and welcome back!

I also play in a cover band and I appreciate what you are saying about the constant battle to hear other people in the band. You are in luck because I have the solution for you. In-ear monitors. I cannot emphasize enough how life changing they are. You can dial in exactly what you want to hear and at what volume. I used to sing backing vocals without being able to hear my own voice. With in-ears I can hear my own voice so it has enabled me to become a better singer.

Hello Rich welcome back, always good to have old members reappear.

I as well am looking for the right Luke II, should not have sold my last one.

I’m really interested to see if the L4 has the same body size as the L3. Some of the clips I have seen give the impression it’s a bit smaller, like the L2. That’s part of the reason I hanker for a L2. Stood up with it for hours at a time, think the smaller body would work better for me.

I feel the same. Smaller body works good for me.
