I traded my one of my Axisss for this guitar and was full of regret. I couldnt get it set up right, it sounded kinda 'blah' and it wouldnt stay in tune for crap. Well I tinkered and tinkered, removed one of the springs, set bridge to slightly float ala LUKE, set neck, saddles and intonated...and then I installed a nickel covered Suhr SSH+ and man does this guitar SMOKE now!...and it looks pretty darn cool too!

I absolutely love love this pickup! I had an Aldrich and an SSV+ and this SSH+ is the best one yet

Yes, surprisingly well. I was gonna change the 250k pot to a 500k but for now I'm pretty happy so I'll leave it as is

The only thing I'd recommend that might dress it up very nicely is a white pearloid pick guard. Looks awesome with any color, especially black.

Well I only had an Aldrich in my axis so it's not a fair comparison actually. But the Aldrich was incredibly hot and almost shrill on the treble side. The SSH+ is smoother and not as brittle on the high end, but then again I'm using it with a 250k pot so alot of those highs are being cut so who knows :-/

Thank you, that's good to know. Too much treble is not to my liking either. I was considering a Suhr or a Bare Knuckles Holy Diver set.

No, I think he meant the pickup cover itself. But it looks like its reflecting your ceiling 'cuz the bridge looks like that too!
