Anyone in Dallas?

Andy and Brian and I (The 'Hats) have rehearsed two days in a row now and I think we're all very happy with how things are going, with the exception of Brian's tendency to destroy guitar strings on a quite regular basis.

Oh, and Andy's ass hurts, but he has a Big Fancy Throne of his own he's going to use.

Since we're only doing a short set on Saturday, we've been working on the same five or six songs, which keeps it simple, but I'm surprised how good it sounds after only two real rehearsals.

Final song selection is:

1. Standing on a Rock
2. Saw Her Standing There
3. Big, Big Love
4. These Boots Are Made For (Christopher) Walken
5. Tiger by the Tail
6. My Babe
7. One After 909

Very up-tempo and we've done some fun stuff with the arrangements. I've been playing the black Bongo 5 for all the rehearsals but finally did a run-through late last night with the single hummer Bongo and guess what? I think I'm going to use that on Saturday. Man, that sucker KILLS.

Anyway, it's in Coppell, outdoors, Saturday morning - you're all invited! I'm told we'll be set up on the steps of City Hall.

Knock em out Jack. Id love to hear you, but theres a few too many miles between Georgia and Texas. Look out, that Single H 5er may take over the roost soon. :D

Larry. Hit em good. I was hoping to play today, but it has been pouring for hours and golf for today is shot. :(

Thanks! This will be the first time I've played since I played in Jamaica back in October plus I have a brand new driver that I haven't even had a chance to take to the range. This ought to be interesting.

I've only heard a version by Two Tons Of Steel, some Texas bunch that specializes in rockabilly stuff.

"I'm standing on a rock
and I ain't going nowhere
I'm standing on a rock
and I ain't gonna move
got me something to live for
I got something to prove
I'm standing on a rock
and I ain't gonna move"

That it? We'll probably get around to recording it sooner or later; I'll let you know.

Larry, it's not really a benefit now that I think about it. It's an Earth Day fiesta.

Awful time, really.

And to think there are bass players amongst us who haven't had the pleasure...
