Folks:

You may see that I have deleted the threads relating to Benji Madden, the opinions and related on this subject, as well as the parody thread. You will also see that the listing that I did as a "soft delete" was listed as "personal, per discussion with Derek".

So that it is known, Derek was very respectable about his take on the whole situation. He is aware that I am not happy with the decision that the company has made, and he fully respects that. However, his take is that I should be a more positive light in regards to what the company does, whether I agree or not, and to voice my opinion in a more private arena.

In retrospect, he is right. Now, just so you know, he did NOT yell at me, and he did NOT put me up to this, or ask for the threads to be deleted. Derek could have ripped my spine out with his bare hands if he wanted to. However, he was very respectful about my take, and was a true gentleman in regards to his and the company's stance. I am grateful to him for that, and in return as a respect for his mature, non-bashing approach to yours truly on this issue, I am taking the initiative on my own to make things right, and correct things that I should have had better control of, and more use of rational thought.

In retro, after reading his email, and having a look from his side of things, I realized that I personally took things a bit too far, and let things get carried away more than they should have. I recall OC making a comment that he "was going to make mention of this, but thought that it would be inappropriate". It's not inappropriate to voice your opinion, but it is to do it in the method that we (I, most specifically) did this in. I failed in the role of moderator on that note, and for that I offer a public apology. I also promise not to get carried away as much as I did on this topic in the future.

With that, I am moving forward and ending my public take on this decision/guitar, though most of you already know how I feel about this, etc. -- whatever, water under the bridge. If you wish to voice concerns, please do so in a more repectable, as well as private manner, by sending email to [email protected].

Thank you, and God Bless.

Ok...I was half way down to AZ to kick some ass, and now I have to turn around and come home  ...Darrell, We still love ya, and you can sign whoever you want when you have your own guitar company :p I think its all good. We all play guitar, although some at different levels, but the bottom line is, it's music, and we will NEVER agree on who is good, or not, but we can agree on one thing...At least we aren't bass players!!!! Rock on :D

Jon, keep on keepin' on to get your way down here. I have some weeds that need to be pulled, jardinero extraordinaire. :p

(I may have chose the high road in regards to the other topic, but nothing changes my plan to pick on our #1 favorite jardinero!) ;)

When Darrell and Jimi got the moderatorship I remember thinking to myself, "Wow I sure am glad I didn't get that." Then I would have to be all P.C. and stuff. As far as that's concerned I am doing EBMM justice right where I am. Playing concerts with EBMM guitars and kicking axe.

Jon,
I'm just down the street from Darrell (I-10). Dude! Just drop a quarter and consider it done.

Darrell,
Cooperstown @ 6:30 good for ya?

Well, first off, I arrived in San Diego in one piece! That's good. Got my laptop set up, that's good. Go to EB forum and see this thread. Darrell, that was a great response to the situation and very humbling on your part. You did not have to apologize, but did in a wonderful fashion. I really enjoy this forum and all opinions associated. That is what makes us (EBMM owners) very unique. We can have opinions either good or bad, and still be humble and respectful. I agreed with alot of what was said. But, alas, I do not make the decision as to who gets endorsed and what not. That's too bad because I feel we all should get endorsed! You and the rest of the Mods on here are great and do a wonderful job keeping us kiddies in line. Sometimes though, the "parent" gets spanked. It's a life lesson. Keep up the good work bro, I for one appreciate it.

Thanks koogs...you know, that crow didn't taste too bad. More people should eat some when they f*ck up.

I hope that my action sets an example to you folks, not only on this board, but in life as well, that when you mess up, be adult enough to either take the heat or step forward and make things right. Don't be part of the "blameless society" and look where you can point your finger, or find the easy way out.

Life and everyone around you in it will be better off when you do it right. :)
