Hi all,

I have an MBOX 3, that I usually plug into my mac to record in pro tools express. I upgraded to El Capitan without doing the due diligence on drivers for the MBOX, and now I cannot use it with the MAC because Avid has not gotten around to updating the drivers. And I don't have a good backup to restore the computer to Yosemite.

I was wondering what alternative hardware/software you all are using? I think it's a bit silly that Avid has ignored the MBOX for what is now going on 4 months on the platform that quite a large number of users utilize. And given that they are going to a subscription model for pro-tools which I don't want to get involved with, I don't feel like sticking around with Avid hardware.

Thanks in advance for your help/sugggestions.

Man, I LOVE Logic Pro X. It's just so easy and smooth. ProTools is great, but always takes more work. Granted, I'm not an expert in ProTools, but making things happen in Logic just seemed effortless in comparison.

I have the Apollo Twin interface and it sounds great. Only two channel, but it suits me fine.

I love Reaper. I wish all software was as well written and thought out. I had zero hesitation in paying for it.

I started out in the deep end of the pool with Pro-Tools - and have dabbled with Reaper, but it's pretty much a given that you'll like whatever you started with best...

Having said that, Pro-Tools is kind of the industry standard - so if you were going to pick one that's the one I'd recommend (and why I picked it). :)
